Sheep vets with deep roots in Pembrokeshire farming

Flock health built around your farm

Supporting Healthy Flocks

Sheep Overview

Sheep farming is central to agriculture in Pembrokeshire and our farm team has a long history of working alongside local flock owners.

Sheep health can be complex and the consequences of getting it wrong are felt quickly. We take a proactive approach: working with you to anticipate problems, investigate issues early and build practical health plans that fit the way you farm.

Our Services

What We Do

01

Worm egg counts and parasite management

Anthelmintic resistance is a growing problem in Welsh flocks. We carry out worm egg counts, faecal egg count reduction tests to monitor resistance, and work with you to build a targeted treatment programme that protects the effectiveness of your wormers for the long term.

02

Lameness investigation and management

Lameness is one of the most common welfare and productivity issues in sheep flocks. We investigate outbreaks, support your team with treatment and footbathing protocols, and advise on flock management to reduce prevalence.

03

Abortion investigation

Abortion storms can have a devastating impact. We carry out post-mortem examinations, take appropriate samples and work quickly to identify the cause – whether that's enzootic abortion, toxoplasmosis, campylobacter or something else – so the right control measures can be put in place.

04

Vaccination programmes

From clostridial disease to pasteurellosis and orf, we design vaccination schedules that fit your system, your timing and your risk profile.

05

Flock health planning

A well-structured health plan helps you get ahead of the seasonal challenges that hit flocks hardest – scanning, lambing, weaning, housing. We build programmes around your calendar and review them with you as your flock performance data develops.

06

Scanning and reproductive services

We offer pregnancy scanning and can advise on ram management, flushing, synchronisation and the management of barren ewes.

07

Emergency cover

Dystocias, prolapse, sudden deaths in lambing – our out-of-hours cover means no matter what time of day or night you need help, you’ll see a familiar face at the gate.

Proactive flock management to keep your sheep healthy and performing.
