Registered Veterinary Nurse C-SQP, Clinical Co-ordinator | RVN
Kim
Growing up on a farm, Kim always knew she wanted to work with animals. She joined Fenton Vets at our Haverfordwest branch in August 2013 as a receptionist before taking the apprenticeship route into veterinary nursing the following year, qualifying in February 2017 and going on to qualify as an SQP in 2019.
Kim enjoys all aspects of nursing – from the day-to-day organisation and challenges of a busy practice to anaesthetics, operations and a true emergency. In recent years she has moved into a clinical co-ordinator role as part of the management team, and keeps her first aid and mental health first aid training up to date.
At home, Kim has two working farm collies – Oti and Twm – who are very much loved and treated as pets, alongside a pedigree herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle. Much of her time outside of work is spent on the farm, though she also gives plenty of it to the community as secretary of both the youth rugby team at Fishguard and Goodwick RFC and Fishguard Show. When she does get a moment to herself, a city break or beach holiday is the perfect way to recharge.
Her favourite thing about Pembrokeshire? The views from home are hard to beat – and as far as Kim is concerned, sunset herd checks make them even better. Pembrokeshire views, she'll tell you, are the best in the world.
