Sophie started out doing work experience in a veterinary practice during the school holidays, and went on to take a part time reception job whilst doing her A-levels. She was lucky enough to be offered a full time position at a small animal practice in Carmarthenshire, where she later trained as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She progressed to a head nurse role shortly after qualifying, which evolved into a split role of head nurse and practice manager. During that time she completed a certificate in veterinary leadership and management.

Sophie joined us in August 2024, stepping away from clinical work and into a full time management role.
Sophie works across our Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock branches. Outside of work she enjoys anything that keeps her active and outdoors. Over the last year or so she has got into triathlon and hyrox training, spending time at the gym, cycling and running – which, as she puts it, is also a great way to explore Pembrokeshire. She also loves travelling and discovering new places and different foods.

At home she has two working cocker spaniels and two cats, all hand reared – and to everyone's surprise, they all get on really well.

Her favourite thing about Pembrokeshire? The little hidden gems found along the coastline – and nothing better than watching a sunset.
