Stock Assistant
Rhianna
Rhianna came to the animal care world via an animal sanctuary and a boarding kennels before making the move to Pembrokeshire. She joined Fenton Vets at our Haverfordwest branch in December 2021 on maternity cover – but before her contract was due to end, a permanent position came up. As she puts it, they've been stuck with her ever since.
Rhianna's role as stock assistant keeps her at the heart of the day-to-day running of the practice, and her background in animal care means she arrived with plenty of relevant experience already under her belt.
At home, things are rarely quiet. Rhianna has two cocker spaniels – one of them from Greenacres – a labrador who came with her from the sanctuary she worked at in Norfolk, two horsefield tortoises rehomed from a friend, more fish than she cares to count and an African grey parrot who came with the partner. The parrot's attitude, she'll tell you, is considerably bigger than she is.
Beyond work, Rhianna is a marine mammal medic with the BDMLR, a wildlife rehabilitator and an active member of several wildlife groups. She also enjoys exploring new places with the dogs and reading when time allows.
Her favourite thing about Pembrokeshire? The beaches and coastal walks – which, for someone who spends her spare time caring for marine mammals and wildlife, feels like exactly the right answer.
