Director – Farm Animal Vet | BVSc MRCVS
Alex Cooper
Alex joined us straight out of Bristol University in July 2004, not intending to stay – but Pembrokeshire had other ideas. He has developed particular interests in lameness and herd health over the years, and enjoys learning new things, picking up an interest in chickens and camelids along the way. He became a director in 2016 and is proud to be at the helm supporting the farming industry and developing the practice for future generations of vets. A career highlight so far? Helping to castrate a camel.
Outside of work he's rarely indoors – wingfoiling, swimming, biking, cycling, running, winter trail runs, climbing off the Pembrokeshire cliffs and ski touring in the mountains. He used to do triathlons but has settled into a steadier pace nowadays, with a winter dip in the sea to cool off.
At home he has Allt-du, a working cocker spaniel called Karen, a cat and a few chickens.
His favourite thing about Pembrokeshire? Pembrokeshire is a playground for just about every outdoor activity going – and they're spoilt for choice.
