Animal Nursing Assistant
Rose
Rose's professional animal journey began in 1996 training military working dogs in Germany for ten years. On returning to the UK she spent two years at McQueens Orthopaedic Referral Practice in Wiltshire before returning to her home county of Pembrokeshire in 2006. She qualified as an Animal Nursing Assistant in 2010 and went on to certify in Advanced Feline Nursing and Behaviour. She is now the ISFM Cat Advocate for our Pembroke Dock branch. Although she loves all animals, feline is her passion – and she never tires of studying every aspect of their weird and wonderful ways.
Rose joined us in December 2015 and is based at our Pembroke Dock branch. Outside of work she loves being outdoors – pottering in the garden, long walks around Pembrokeshire and exploring further afield, travelling to new countries to experience different cultures and landscapes.
At home she has Fergus and Finley, British Shorthair brothers and, as Rose admits, not your average boys. At two years old Fergus was discovered to have a rare condition resulting in both femoral heads being removed. With weeks of physio from Rose and encouragement from his brother Fin, he made a full recovery and can run and jump – you would never know he has no hips. Fin stuck by him every step of the way and never left his side during recovery. Cats never cease to amaze her – especially those two.
Her favourite thing about Pembrokeshire? Everything – beaches, landscape, wildlife. Very lucky to have grown up here.
