Fenton Large Animal Practice

The vast majority of work done by the large animal vets is with dairy cow, beef and sheep enterprises. Less commonly we see goats, poultry or even Guanacos!

The large animal vets work with farm animals only. We believe that this offers a better service to our clients. As well as allowing us to concentrate our expertise, we never have small animal surgery to rush back to!

Two large animal vets are on duty out of hours. This helps us to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies on farm such as calvings, milk fever and staggers.

At the Fenton Veterinary Practice we are acutely aware of the financial pressure on farmers across the country. We know that we need to help keep Pembrokeshire farming in order to survive ourselves. Obviously, prevention of disease is key to optimal welfare and productivity. The Veterinarian-Farmer partnership is vital to developing a whole herd / flock strategy to improving the health of farm animals.

Focus on Dairy

Dairy farmers particularly, are encouraged to have regular visits from our vets. This is mainly for the important role we play in fertility management but is also a good opportunity for dealing with other aspects such as calf health, mastitis, lameness etc.
