Chip it  Scan it  Check it

The Fenton Veterinary Practice is delighted to have supported National Microchipping Month in June 2009. The scheme is coordinated by The Kennel Club, promotes identichipping, and gives owners a discount on microchipping their pets.

Implanting an identichip under the skin is the best way to permanently identify your pet.  This can help a speedy return of your loved on if they get lost, or perhaps stolen.  The chip is about the size of a grain of rice, and carries a unique bar code.  With this code, we can obtain your contact details from a secure website - 24 hours a day!

If your pet has already been microchipped and you just want to make sure the chip is working why not bring them along and have them scanned. This way you can rest assured that in case your pet gets lost, he or she has a working microchip implanted that can help you be reunited.

See video here (!) on how easy it is to read a microchip once implanted in your pet.
