Giving Cats Tablets
Giving some cats a tablet can be impossible. Cat bites and scratches can be very serious in people, especially if the person has certain medical conditions. They can lead to amputation of fingers or worse in extreme situations. In any case they are very painful, so you may be relieved to know there is another way! Some products can be applied to the skin (like many flea preparations) to cover a wide range of worms in cats, making life much easier for the animal and owner. They are also available in dogs, although they currently do not cover tapeworms. In dogs, one alternative is to give an injection for tapeworms, and 'spot-on' preparations for roundworms (and fleas depending upon the product).
